Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based program that teaches you how to recognize the signs and symptoms of someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge, as well as the confidence to help.
Mental Health First Aid teaches you an evidence-based action plan:
A – Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
L – Listen non-judgementally.
G – Give reassurance and information.
E – Encourage appropriate professional help.
E – Encourage self-help and other support strategies.
In – Person
Take an 8 hour course in the same physical space as your peers and instructor(s)
Do 2 hours of pre-work on your own, then join your instructor(s) and peers in an online platform such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Blended In – Person
Do 2 hours of pre-work on your own, then join your instructor(s) and peers in the same physical space to finish your training.
